Breeding Licence
Licensed and Inspected Dog Breeder – 4-Star Rating
We are proud to operate under a 4-star breeding license, issued by Cheshire West and Chester Council, in accordance with the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018. This rating reflects our deep commitment to responsible, ethical breeding and the highest standards of animal welfare.
Licence number AAL/25/B/576457
What the Star Rating Means
The UK’s licensing system for breeders uses a nationally recognised star rating framework, which assesses both the quality of care provided and the overall risk level of the operation. All licensed breeders are inspected by local authority animal welfare officers, and the rating they receive depends on how well they meet or exceed specific welfare standards.
The star rating system includes:
- 1 stars – Minimum standards met, can be classed as either low or high, license valid for 1 year
- 2 stars – Minimum standards met, higher risk, license valid for 1 year
- 3 stars – All minimum standards met, low risk, license valid for 2 years
- 4 stars - Higher standards met, higher risk, license valid for 2 years
- 5 stars – Higher standards met, very low risk, license valid for 3 years
Our 4-star license means we exceed the minimum requirements in areas such as enrichment, socialisation, living conditions, and overall care.
What Our 4-Star Rating Means in Practice
Receiving a 4-star rating is not just a badge—it’s a sign of how we operate every single day. Our license reflects:
- A clean, spacious, and enriching environment for all our dogs
- High levels of socialisation and positive early handling for puppies
- Detailed record-keeping, health monitoring, and vet oversight
- Ongoing commitment to learning, improving, and raising standards
We treat all our dogs with love and respect, and we raise each litter with careful planning, plenty of patience, and individual attention. Puppies are never rushed and our girls are never overbred. Instead, we take time to ensure they are well-adjusted, confident, and ready for a lifelong home.
A Heart-Led, Welfare-First Approach
Breeding beautiful Great Danes is a responsibility we take deeply to heart to preserve this wonderful breed. Our animals are part of our daily lives and enjoy life in the home environment. Never in a kennel. Their health and happiness always come first. From the moment a litter is planned to the day a puppy goes home with their new family, we are there every step of the way, laying strong foundations for a healthy future.
We’re proud of the work we do and always happy to share more about our breeding practices and what this license means. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
