Recognised Internationally: Invited by the Indian Kennel Club

We were deeply honoured to be approached by the Indian National Kennel Club to contribute an article to their prestigious annual magazine published in July 2025, a respected publication within the international dog breeding and show community. Our Director, Ionie-Lee Smallwood, was personally asked by the editor and chief of the magazine to share her insights on the breed, her journey with Great Danes, and what to look for when searching for a puppy from a responsible, ethical breeder. This request was both humbling and inspiring.

The Indian National Kennel Club had no shortage of accomplished breeders and judges they could have chosen—from around the world. That fact that they approached our small, dedicated kennel was a powerful reflection of the global reputation we’ve built through years of hard work, passion, and unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of our dogs.

The article focused on three key areas:

  • The background and ethos as long-standing, welfare-first breeders
  • Breed-specific insights drawn from years of hands-on experience
  • Guidance for identifying ethical, responsible breeders—to help prospective puppy buyers make informed, confident choices

The article shared our belief that good breeding starts with respect for the dogs, a deep knowledge of the breed, and a commitment to transparency and care above profit. It was a privilege to use our platform to advocate for better practices in dog breeding—not just locally, but globally.

To be recognised in this way by such a prominent international organisation has reaffirmed why we do what we do. It was not just a celebration of our achievements, but a reminder that the impact of ethical, welfare-focussed breeding reaches far beyond the walls of our home and country.

We are proud of this milestone and grateful to the Indian National Kennel Club for acknowledging the work we’re so passionate about. If you’d like to read more about the article or our experience, we’re always happy to share. You can also click on the button below to learn more about the Indian National Kennel Club.
